Are the Japanese purposely eating endangered animals?

endangered animals
Joe from WI asked:

There is a rumor that in a sushi restaurant in Japan, if you are wealthy you are handed a menu of endangered animals that you can order in your sushi. What animals are at risk?

That’s just a silly rumor by foreigners who’ve never been nor have any knowledge what so ever of Japan. It doesn’t exist.

Ugh, I hope that is just a rumor! It is so cruel to kill endangered animals like that. If it is true, then I’m not sure what animals are at risk. Why do people like sushi over there so much, anyway?

The Japanese “fishing” industry doesn’t have any respect for anything in the water.

They mutilate sharks for their fins and eat whales and dolphins.

Accusing Japan of eating endangered species was probably just started by some racist or xenophobe.

Every powerful feels a right to do evil things to animals. Japan is just one country that is especially horrible to sea animals.=-1282796533661048967&ei=rrCkSN-oMpu-qgP229CzCA&q=earthlings=&aq=f

Maybe, but the Chinese certainly are.
The way they see it, when I ask some Chinese person, “What will happen when you eat them to extinction?” They simple and moronically reply, “Just eat something else.” That’s the general perception in China, probably the same to some people in Japan too.

I have no evidence what so ever, but wouldn’t be surprise if there is a super rich people on this planet eating endangered species behind the back. In another word, you got to be Mr. Super RICH to get access to such food as trying to catch such endangered animals would cost you a fortune.

Japanese lifestyle is pretty standardized - there are not many super poors, but at the same time, not many super rich in Japan. In that sense, China or US may probably be more likely to have higher population of ‘endangered specie eating super rich people’.

China has 10times as much population than Japan so won’t be surprised. US has twice as much population plus highest number of people on the Billionaires list so won’t be surprised either.

Hence, there might be some Japanese sushi chef making money out of serving endangered species to those Mr. Super Rich from China, US, etc. - wouldn’t be surprised at all as there are heaps of smart business men in Japan.

Oh, also note that, not many animals can be made into Sushi either.
