Is honesty in the list of endangered species?

endangered species

They say, ‘Honesty is the best policy.’ Sadly, it seems to be but a policy that hardly, if ever, gets implemented! Everywhere you look in the society, dishonesty seems to be ruling the roost. The cutthroat attitude of people is willing to sacrifice honesty in the altar of monetary gains. So, is honesty really heading the dinosaur’s way?

Do you consider yourself an endangered species, the last of the Noah’s Ark pair? And why?

I know I do, in a physical sense, coz according to Arthur C. Clarke humans in the next 2000 years will evolve into fair, hairless, petit, branded skin-tight clothing-wearing freaks, all of which I’m not. So, I’m curious in a pleasant psychological way; what characteristics of yours are unique or u think are dying out in others? I am taling more about individuality and less of race, religion, species, etc.

Are Meat-Eaters Selfish? Are Their Arguments Deceitful? How Do They Justify Their Existence?

animal extinction
Luci D asked:

A family of four could eat for a month on the grain it takes to grow one pound of beef.

A beef cattle uses 2500 gallons of water to mature.

Grazing cattle cause the extinction of hundreds of species of birds. Rain forests are being destroyed for grazing cattle.

Meat-eaters seem to be concerned that beef cattle will become extinct, but have no concern about the hundreds of other species meat animals drive to extinction.

Raising meat animals, and farming fish and shell fish, creates huge amounts of waste which winds up polluting our land, and water. It pollutes the ground water as well as the rivers and coasts. It has caused “dead zones” in our gulf and other places.

Birds and insects are essential to our human existence, but meat-eaters ignore this and insist that all 300 million of them have the right to eat animals every day, even if it causes great extinctions.

Do the math. How many animals to feed 300 million people?

Is the contemporary meat-eating habit justifiable?

Will the world be still earthly by 2031?

I was just wondering what your opinion was. Do YOU think the world will still have nature and all the other stuff? Like Because of Global Warming and Animal Extinction what do you think the world will be like by 2031? If animals go extinct then there will be no meat. If nature is destroyed there will be no fruits, vegetables, wood, basicly no life. What do you think will happen by then?

Beginning of the world, Dinosaurs, and extinction, how do they fit together?

animal extinction
mandylover asked:

At the beginning of the world, we have the Dinosaurs along with female, and male being born. Than, comes extinction of the dinosaurs with a big meteorite, or something else happening.

Why did the dinosaurs die, but the humans still live? Did God make more humans, or were those humans some place away from the Dinosaurs? Were the dinosaurs on some part of the planet, but they weren’t where the humans were? Obviously, they had to exist at the same time because at the beginning of the world, God made all those animals, and humans.

What kind of heritage do we leave to our children?

animal extinction
Q-ball asked:

I’m past the half century mark already, and have led a full life, so I am contented, and looking forward to probably some 25 years max of still poluting the air with my cigarette smoke, etc. I am therefore fairly contented, yet I am concerned that my children’s children will have but a barren shell, with no more wild animals, sticky goo for water, and pea soup for air, in their “hot house atmosphere” . . . It is said we are the last generation that can “save” Planet Earth for extinction! The list of species reaching the Red Data Book of endangered species, is growing faster by the day! Urbanization increases at a staggering rate, etc., etc. Are we really trying to make THAT difference?

What will happen when every human is gone?

animal extinction
Coma White (jsts22) asked:

there’s a certainty that death and annihilation awaits the Earth in general. It’s a certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Is there any type of point to life and the universe? Or are we just animals living with no purpose other than reproducing and repeating the same thing until we are all gone.

What do you call this type of argument?

animal extinction
Luci D asked:

Today there was a debate on the business channel about minimum wage increase. One of the debaters said that he was against ever having any minimum wage increase out of concern with the working person. He said that they will lose their jobs if there is a minimum wage increase.

This reminded me of the argument about eating meat, where the meat-eater claims that if we didn’t eat meat, the whole bovine genus would become extinct.

What I find remarkable about the bovine extinction argument is that the person who makes it usually shows no concern at all for any of the thousands of species whose extinction we cause each year. But they are really concerned that cattle will face extinction.

My question is: what is the name of this type of argument? The debater professes a concern with people, animals, or the subject which enables him or her to make an argument that would not at all be in the best interest of these people or animals or whatever the subject is.
