Extinction?

animal extinction
cornhusker asked:

If the extinction of animals and development of new species is a process of natural evolution, then why are we trying to save endangered species?

To feel like we did something, even if we can’t do anything

The “process” I think was put out of place when technology was created and demanded. Evolution is just history it seems like - what is the process now? Save to be Saved? or Kill or be Killed?

I think mostly because the extinction of prehistoric animals was mainly due to climate and environmental change not caused by the influence of people and now, most endangered species are endangered primarily because of human influence so a lot of people feel they need to fix if if they caused it. I have always had a hard time with that question. I think it comes down to the fact that human influence is killing off species faster than they can adapt to the new environment and that’s the main difference.

Simply because nothing could have evolved without living cells existing. Note that extinction is total diminishing of a species’ variety. How could something evolve if the reproduction and perpetuation of life stops.

*I do not believe in evolution, and so do many people in the world. We believe in the creation theory. We must protect animals because there is no way anything could evolve into some animals present characteristic/s.

Anything that is endangered on this planet leads one to believe that it is being caused by mankind and so the efforts to save them. The fact that the cause of it is man is true in majority of the cases. One factor is the destruction of the natural habitat done by man which leads to thinning in the population of the species leading to their extinction.

Most plants and animals on the endangered species list have arrived there because their primary habitats are “endangered “. Irresponsible human activity is the primary reason behind most of this habitat destruction. To sit by idly and watch endangered plant and animal species vanish would be further evidence of our irresponsible stewardship.

We have the means and the intellect to preserve and restore critical habitat but do we have the collective compassion and ambition to take action and right the situation?
