How can I save an ocelot or a endangered red list species?

Just listing a species as threatened or endangered does nothing if we still continue to destroy their habitat. So your answer is Habitat Preservation.

Much like Global Warming, the extinction of individual species is inevitable. They are replaced by other species to fill up the niche. Ultimately, there is nothing you can do to “save” a red list species from extinction. You MAY be able to slow its inevitability, but you cannot prevent it.
here are several so-called banner successes by individual groups, saying they single handedly SAVED the eagle population or the buffalo population or the wild mustang population. Hogwash! These animals were only being exterminated by man in a specific area; they still had healthy populations elsewhere.
Moreover, with the government stepping in, the citizen is taken out of the loop except for giving their money. If you attempt to intervene directly, they will put you in jail and make you a poster child for the evil species exterminators interfering with the natural environment of that species.
