Why dont people care about the planet?

animal extinction
Joe C asked:

Beyond global warming, why don’t people care about over population, rainforest destruction, animal extinction, ocean pollution or any of those things? I mean is it really that hard to do a little more good and consume a little less?

Theres alot that do care but alot more that dont..its hard to keep up when you dont have as many people taking care of it as you do trashing it..especially this new gen of punk kids, they dont give to craps but about how much there popularity goes up and what outfit there going to wear to the mall.

More and more people are waking up and care.

Cleaning up the mess of hundreds of years will take a long time - we won’t be around to see it.

What bothers me is why the large manufacturing companies don’t do more to clean up their act.

Not only in countries like China or India/Thailand where there are no emmision controls (burning coal constantly in China) but in North America as well, eg: Alberta Canada, there are the tar oil sands. They burn natural gas to extract oil - nice huh?

I think policitians are paying lip service to the public to obtain support, but really don’t give a sh t. They still permit this constant spewing of poison in the air - its all about money.
